Set in the heart of the Nice’s picturesque Old Town, Rue de la Préfecture is a bustling little street packed with restaurants, boutique shops and bars. This really is the central hub of the old town and from here the Cours Saleya and daily marketplace is a few seconds walk away and the promenade and beach a minute further. Across from the apartment is the breathtaking Place de Palais, a wonderful square with an ornate fountain set outside the halls of justice surrounded by fantastic Niçoise restaurants and a weekly market selling books and art.

The large master bedroom has a super king size bed and large French windows looking out over Rue de la Préfecture. There is a large wardrobe with adequate storage space and a dressing table and an air conditioning unit. The second bedroom has a king size bed, large fitted wardrobe, a dressing table and floor fan. The bedrooms are at opposite ends of the apartment so allow for maximum privacy.

The bathroom is tiled in blue mosaic and has two vanity sinks and a large double sized shower cubicle, towel radiator and toilet.

The open plan lounge and dining area is stunning and has large French windows and a traditional stone fireplace and ceiling fan. There is plenty of space for entertaining up to 6 people and has a large three seater velvet sofa and a two seater cream sofa. There is a 42” LCD television and DVD and video player. (Internet and English speaking news channels). There is a CD player and selection of CDs, DVDs and videos. The separate kitchen is an excellent size and great for cooking for larger groups. It has a large fridge-freezer, a wine fridge, 4 ring ceramic hob and combination oven with grill. There is a dishwasher, washing machine, a toaster, kettle and cafetière. There is also a breakfast bar to enjoy your petit-déjeuner in the morning.

There is an oak table and seating for six people in the living area.

Free parking in Nice can be difficult to find. There is a pay as you go underground car park at the Place du Palais, the entrance is on Rue Alexandre Mari. There is also one on the Cours Saleya, the entrance is on Rue Sainte François de Paule. Go to www.plan-nice.org for a map of all car parks in Nice.

The 98 airport bus runs from the Airport through the centre of Nice and terminates in the Port. Bus stop 'Cathédrale - Vieille Ville' is your nearest bus stop. Gare SNCF Nice Ville train station is a good 20 minute walk. But you can use the tram. Tram stop 'Opéra' is your closest stop. This is at the bottom of Rue de la Préfecture on Avenue Jean Jaurès. It is less than a 5 minute journey to the train station. Visit www.lignesdazur.com for more information. Taxi rank Hotel Meridien is closest and is opposite McDonald’s at the Hotel Meridien. Taxis can also pick up/drop off at your request at Place du Palais, very close to your rental apartment.

The total price of this apartment includes crisp white Egyptian cotton linen for one super king size and one king size bed and fluffy cotton towels for four people. There is a 30€ charge if you require linen for the high quality self inflating air mattress.
